TeamSmile Dental Home Project: Powered by DentaQuest

Continuation of Care

The TeamSmile Dental Home Project, powered by DentaQuest, connects at-risk children with long-term dental homes, ensuring they receive ongoing care. Nearly 4,000 children have been paired with local dentists who accept Medicaid or provide free services, addressing immediate needs and fostering lasting relationships for continued care. The Dental Home Project creates a ripple effect that transforms lives.

One Child At A Time

In 2007, an NBC Nightly News story shed light on a young boy who died as the result of an untreated abscessed tooth. Because his family had limited resources and access to health care, he was forced to wait until his tooth ache became unbearable to seek emergency treatment. Sadly, the infection had already spread to his brain. After weeks of hospital care and surgeries, he passed away. Knowing that this tragedy could have easily been prevented, Dr. Bill Busch, a Kansas City dentist, was inspired to take action and make a positive impact in his own community. In 2007, the Kansas City Chiefs hosted the first TeamSmile outreach program.
